E. Richard Toray is a partner with Gerash, Toray & Gerash, P.C. In addition to his criminal defense background, he is Mr. Toray has tried more than 55 jury trials and numerous bench trials. He has made over 1000 appearances in the courtroom, including federal, state and municipal courts. He has practiced in both state and federal appellate courts, has presented oral arguments to the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals and has had two of his cases published. Prior to becoming an Associate Attorney with two prominent Denver law firms, Mr. Toray ran a successful law practice. He was also a senior attorney with the Colorado State Public Defender’s Office, where he supervised staff and trained young lawyers. As a seasoned trial lawyer he is intimately familiar with the rules of evidence and procedure and the day-to-day workings of the court system. Mr. Toray has studied more than a half dozen foreign languages. Before entering law school, he attended the University of California, Berkeley where he graduated with a Masters degree in South Asian Studies and received a graduate fellowship for foreign language study. He has lived, studied and traveled extensively in Asia, Europe and Latin America.
