The Voices Unlimited® Apprenticeship ProgramTM The purpose of the Voices Unlimited® Apprenticeship Program is to train the most highly competent, compassionate, professional singers available to become 6-Point Vocal WAV Method vocal coaches and enable them to guarantee vocal transformation within seven weeks. Because of the radically effective 6-Pt Vocal WAV Method, graduates are prepared on all levels to sing, teach and run their own businesses as confident vocal professionals. This program is also used as an advanced training program for people wishing to become viable professional singers. Niki Velendi Voices Unlimited Vocal Coach Boulder, Colorado The Apprenticeship Program or Advanced Apprenticeship Certification Program (or AP Program for short) is for singers and therapists to become certified in being able to transmit and effectively teach L.Divy Nelson’s "6 Point Vocal WAVe Method" with integrity, authority and aplomb. This method de-conceptualizes the past 200 years of archaic classical vocal coaching and brings vocal coaching cleanly and clearly into the 21st century. As a CERTIFIED vocal coach, your clientele can trust that you will be delivering much more than just vague results. You will be able to see the changes in your clients’ voices within 6 weeks and be able to garentee vocal transformation within that period time. The AP Program for Professional Singers and Therapists Advanced or professional singers need only apply through a one hour session with L. Divy Nelson. Your first one hour session will tell you if this is something you really want to teach or not. It also tells us if we feel you will be able to complete the program. You audition the method and we audition you! After that, you may want to take a short (2 to 6 weeks) private vocal study program to become truly versed and immersed in the method. If not, you may begin your program immediately or as soon as there is an opening in the program. Therapists participate in a modified program that does not include public performance yet still they will be able to transmit this wonderful methodology to their clients in the interests of opening up vocal capacities. Program Requirements This schedule has a 4-month duration with a 2-month graduate study program directly following these 4 months. This graduate study program is a support for the recent graduate expressed through the student’s continued involvement in an advanced vocal performance class. The graduate study program is optional yet highly recommended. Students must pass written and oral exams, and certification is contingent upon the student’s demonstrated proficiency with the 6-Pt Vocal WAV Method at the completion of their program of study. As a participant in the AP Program you are welcome to become involved in all of the Voices Unlimited programs, observing, participating and assisting. Catherine McCarthy Voices Unlimited Vocal Coach Denver, Colorado The minimum amount of time you need to spend with us and still be eligible for certification is: 1/2 hour per week of private vocal study assist one beginner performance class attend 1 1/2 hour AP lecture per week participation in an advanced performance class You may ADD to this basic curriculum: observing and assisting all classes available unlimited private vocal study time with Divy study time with Sara Townes (our general manager) Upon certification you may want to teach at home, start your own vocal arts studio or remain affiliated with Voices Unlimited in some capacity. We strongly suggest that you defiantly remain in a vocal performance class, either as a performer or an assistant, for 2 months after your certification. After 11 years of running this program, we have found that graduates sometimes need to feel supported as they venture into the world or that they simply may want to feel the momentum that Voices Unlimited carries as a result of being in business for 15 years. One MUST complete the program to earn certification. She is the only one who will be certifying you on the west coast. East coast singers will need to contact Kerry Whitson in New York. Make arangements for your accommodations well in advance of the beginning date of your AP Program. Deposits are required for reservations which exceed 6 months for the AP Certification Program .
