L. Divy Nelson

has been a working, professional singer for 24 years.

She is the creator of the "Six Point Vocal WAVe Method," a highly effective and guaranteed vocal empowerment method, and is founder of Voices Unlimited, a school of voice offering vocational training programs for singers, private vocal study

and corporate programs nationwide. Doing what one loves and being paid handsomely to do so is at the core of her own day-to-day well being and is the foundational principal behind the creation of her Apprenticeship Programs and Corporate Trainings. Divy has been teaching other people to fulfill their dreams while also pursuing her own.

The wealth of her experience and knowledge has congealed into a simple formula for teaching anyone how to sing, speak, communicate and commune with ease and economy. This, in turn, leads to

• improved relationships at work and at home,
• fearlessness in speaking to large groups,
• developing an amazing singing voice and
• communicating in every moment with clarity, confidence, relaxation and JOY!

Born in Los Angeles, California and a working musician from the age of 14, Divy hails from a family deeply entrenched within the movie and television industry. Having been raised in a family whose members were all working artists, her earliest impressions were very positive concerning an artist's ability to earn substantial livings doing what they do best.

After a brief stint at Cal State University at Northridge, studying at The Dick Grove School of Music and being on the road with "The New Christy Minstrels," she soon realized that not all artists hold this perspective. She found that being securely self-employed was not a predominantly held thoughtform or attitudinal belief among artists. As a result, many people with wonderful voices and/or advanced musical abilities had relatively little confidence concerning their gifts. Many couldn't even imagine singing, songwriting or performing (or being a vocally powerful leader within their community or business environment)) as a way of making a living. Singing for television and radio commercials for 18 years has given Divy a significantly professional perspective into the business of being an employable singer.

Divy also realized that within the business world people were desperate for the kind of savvy confidence that performers naturally imbibe and use, day to day, to survive within an intensely competitive industry.

Her role as mentor and teacher is particularly profound amongst her students at The Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Course titles such as "Ecstatic Choir" and "Ecstatic Voice" allow students to become immersed in vocal technique and joyful expression while confronting the historical consequences of vocal repression. Tremendous courage is evident in every single class as ordinary people express themselves with extraordinary vocal power, confidence and finesse for the first time in their lives.

Over the last 20 years Divy has studied with meditation masters from around the world. Her approach to learning and teaching is unique in that it incorporates the whole being in considering the solutions and courses of study for each individual. She understands how deeply every aspect of our lives is affected when our authentic voice is finally released or is continuously held in check.

Divy's work, having brought such concrete results to so many people, has given her a rock solid confidence in being able to rally people to new heights of achievement. Her reward is the daily gratitude of budding singers, healing hearts, newly employed singers and vocal coaches, recording artists and ultra-efficient business people and their companies expressing the power of their own essential divinity through clear, confident and joyful communication.
